AIGUILLE BAULMES BIKE (marked)

This route takes mountain bikers around the famous Aiguilles de Baulmes ridge. Between forests and pastures, the route offers a beautiful diversity of landscapes and is guaranteed to recharge your batteries. Another highlight is the unusual view of the hidden face of the Chasseron,

Departing from the railway station in Sainte-Croix, the music-box capital of the world, the trail begins on a hard-surfaced path that descends towards La Sagne. Heading towards L'Onglettaz and Montfeloux, the Arnon river can be seen from the white path, which continues to wind under the Aiguilles de Baulmes mountain range to reach the Col de L'Aiguillon.

At the pass, a short transition onto a single trail takes mountain bikers downhill to the hamlets of La Gittaz-Dessus, La Gittaz-Dessous and its typical restaurant, Les Grangettes and then the village of L'Auberson, a street village which houses the Baud family's famous collection of music boxes and automata in the family museum.

The route continues on a white track towards the Combette-Verte log cabin, close to the Franco-Swiss border. A short, more technical section then crosses the forest to the hamlet of Vers Chez Henri. The route continues via Les Granges-Jaccard and La Chaux to the Col des Etroits. On this part of the route, sports enthusiasts can admire an unusual view of the hidden face of the Chasseron, the region's legendary peak. Once at the Col des Etroits, the route continues on a white track and then a single trail to the Grangette Addor, where a ski jump was once located. The return to Sainte-Croix station is via Les Replans and the Addreys district.

A mountain bike itinerary with magnificent views and a pleasant, undulating route. Only one major difficulty on the road at the end of the climb to the Col de l'aiguillon. I had a lot of fun doing this route with my teenagers.
